Special Olympics Broward

Special Olympics Florida - Broward County currently serves over 4100 athletes and offers competition in 23 different team and individual sports.

 

Founded in 1972, Special Olympics Broward County currently serves over 3100 athletes and offers competition in 22 different team and individual sports. These athletes are trained by certified coaches, and are supported and encouraged by more than 1000 volunteers.

Special Olympics athletes are given opportunities to participate without regard to economic, demographic, religious, or social factors. Neither athletes nor their parents are charged a fee to participate in the program, and activities exist for those of all ability levels, from the highly functioning to the severely challenged.
