The Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital is a private non-profit, 501(C) (3) organization. The SNC was founded in 1995 by Joan Kohl. We do not receive funding from any government agencies or tax dollars. The SNC relies on donations, and volunteers are the backbone of our “wild” family!
The admission fee is $5 for adults ages 18+, $3 for students ages 5-17, and free for 4 and under.
Our environmental learning center and wildlife hospital are great assets to the community, enabling us to educate the public about our unique South Florida ecosystems and its wildlife inhabitants.
Our hospital provides care for many sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. Our goal is to release all of our patients back into the wild, but those that cannot be released will find a home in our specially designed aviaries and habitats.
During spring, summer, and winter breaks, and on the days off of school, we offer a camp program for children ages 6-12. The camp is geared towards environmental science activities. Camp Wild is held mainly in the outdoor classroom at the SNC and all activities and programs are on-site. Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Please visit our website for a registration packet and a printable copy of the Camp Wild days!
Want to have a WILD party? Come to the SNC to make it happen! Use our facilities to give your child a hands-on experience with some of Florida’s wildlife for a party that will be remembered for years to come. Book a party for a birthday, graduation, or any other special occasion.
