If you live on the East side of Fort Lauderale, Delmar Arts Academy is at the top of a parents list for being a well-rounded environment for their child to develop their love of learning and flourish. It’s unique multi-cultural and arts-based approach is one to experience in-person through a tour.
The school has a warm and welcoming appeal, evidence of being ran by a loving family that puts the children first above all else. Each morning, you will see the faculty side-by-side in greeting your child and overseeing their education, challenges and successes.
Their director, Adriana Jones, believes that by forging an alliance with parents and families, an optimal, synergistic outcome for the children can be obtained. Each classroom and every teacher is set up to actively nurture the emotional, social, physical, cognitive and spiritual growth of each child. Our teachers provide individualized attention and opportunities to share thinking and independently problem-solve. We cultivate a sense of trust and support to foster a growth mindset open to learning and achievement.
“We here at Delmar seek not only to ensure the happiest and healthiest start to our young students’ academic careers, but also to their life-paths as human beings.”
The Arts in Early Childhood Education
Nurturing the children’s inner workings through developmentally appropriate experiences, including yoga, dance, music and fine art, art is integrated through all components of their daily learning. Children at Delmar Arts Academy have regular access to creative outlets for self-expression and become energetic and passionate towards the learning process. Our children become students who understand what is expected of them in education and prepared for the demands of Elementary School.
Dual-Language, Multi-Cultural Setting
The preschool, kindergarten and after-school programs at Delmar offer your child a dual-language environment where your child will learn English and Spanish through groundwork appropriate for native and non-native speakers of the languages. The dedicated staff and families who attend come from a wide background of cultures, faiths and nationalities, reinforcing the Delmar passion for balanced, multi-faceted growth in our families and communities at large!
Independent Thinkers, Active Learners
Delmar offers a curriculum tailored every day by each child’s learning experience, turning their decisions into interest-based educational opportunities. Children learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. When co-owners, Mrs. Adriana and Mrs. Ande opened Delmar Arts Academy, they knew their unique brand of education would focus on encouraging each child to reach their own, unique potential in all areas of their lives. Thanks also to the implementation of the High-Scope curriculum, they have an established track-record of children who go on to be high achievers in their educational careers after Delmar.
Parent Involvement and Community Engagement
Delmar holds a Parent Leadership Committee comprised of parents who regularly meet to discuss school issues, family matters and participate in fun activities such as family movie night, school/family barbecues and other outings. Parent and community-building events are held on a monthly basis.
“We actively facilitate and encourage each child to reach their own, unique potential in all areas of their lives. We seek to instill our passion for balanced, multi-faceted growth in our families and communities at large.”
